I want to buy a Ford EcoSport 1.5 petrol Titanium. What is the actual mileage for the vehicle in the city and on highways? Also, what are the maintenance costs for the same? The car drives well in its diesel as well as petrol variants while the power output for both is good as well. It looks fine and also has a competitve price but I am still under a confusion.

The claimed mileage of the 1.5 petrol Titanium variant of the Ford EcoSport is 15.6kmpl while in terms of actual mileage, there are a few who have managed to get somewhere close to 14 – 16kmpl as well. Mileage actually depends totally on how well you keep your car and how properly do you maintain it.
As far as the maintenance cost of the Ford EcoSport is concerned, it has always been a little towards the higher side when compared with its rivals like Maruti and Hyundai.
Also, if you are debating between a petrol version and the diesel version of EcoSport then that decision will mostly depend on how many kms your vehicle is going to cover in a month on an average. If that figure comes out to be above 1500kms every month then I would suggest you go in for the diesel variant while if it is lesser then you should go in for the petrol variant. The price difference between the petrol and diesel variants of this vehicle is Rs 67,000 when considering only the ex-showroom price at New Delhi. The features and specifications remain the same in both the variants except the engine of course. The diesel has a lower power of 99bhp and hence gives a better mileage at 22.7kmpl in comparison.
Overall it is a brilliant vehicle and if you have any doubts then just go with your instinct because this is a really good car and won’t give you much to complaint about.
