To use any of the phone features for SYNC with infotainment system of EcoSport, such as making a call, receiving a text message or Google Map—you must connect, or "pair" your Bluetooth-enabled phone. Pairing is what allows Bluetooth devices to communicate securely with each other. For pairing your smart phone with the Ford Ecosport SYNC 3 connect do the following:
• Turn on your mobile phone and enable your phone’s bluetooth feature and make your phone discoverable.
• SYNC lists the phone that has been paired. To pair another, touch Add a phone.
• Search for devices on your mobile phone until your phone finds SYNC. Then, select SYNC.
• Both SYNC and your phone will display a six-digit number, or pass-key. Verify that the two numbers match, then touch Pair on your phone and Yes on your SYNC touchscreen to confirm.
The SYNC 3 display will then indicate that pairing is successful.
SYNC 3 displays Emergency Assist status. This feature is “Off” by default; press “Off” to turn the feature on. You also have the option to turn off “Auto-Download Contacts.” It is “On” by default; press “On” to turn the feature off.
Press the “Finish” button. Now when you open Google Map on your mobile, it should mirror on the infotainment screen.
