Why the pickup of my Ford ecoboost engine drops when I drive up hills?

The Ecoboost engine is a smaller petrol engine with a turbocharger, so there might be some turbo lag when you go up hill at low RPM. For driving on hilly areas the 1.5 liter diesel engine is an ideal choice as it is turbocharged and has bigger displacement for better torque. However, if the ecoboost engine seems to lose power quite badly even at lower altitudes - you will need to check the air-mass flow sensor and air filter. If they are alright, get the car checked from your local Ford service center as sometimes, the vacuum actuator for the turbo waste gate could be an issue.
