BRV V Diesel
Year of Manufacture : 2016 | Driven no. of Kms. :
I needed 7 seater car, as my need is about 5or6 Adults and 1or2 children should be able to ride together comfortably. Didnt want to spend above 15 lkh on road and hence chose DIeselV variant. And Creta certainly did not fit the needs, though in same price range. Innova Crysta was certainly way above 15 lkh. Mahindra XUV was also way above, and it hardly has any boot space behind 3rd row, which you expect to have when you travel with Family and Friends with Full load. The other major criteria was Mileage. Hondas Diesel Engine is unbeatable in this category. I did a round trip of 500KM, Bangalore-Kabini, with 4 adults and 2 children, and for the entire trip I got 24kmpl mileage which is 2km more than what Honda ARAI mileage. Very very impressive on Mileage. In fact the max on another trip which was 100 km, the mileage meter touched 27kmpl on Hosur road. I do travel daily with this car in Bangalore CITY Outer RingRoad, and I do get consistent mileage of 16kmpl with AC ON. Just simply superb for a 7 seater to offer this kind of mileage with 1.5 ltr. diesel engine. For Boot, With 3rd seat ON, I could nicely fit 3 Cabin size Suitecase, 2 medium size Daffle bags, which is very much a needed space in any 7 seater car, without putting a luggage carrier on Top of car, similar to most of Cabs. The car also has highest NCAP safety rating, search on YouTube.
While It could have better than 2 Din audio and Video system, I am fine as GPS navigation is not something I miss. To overcome some of the other downside of car, at cost of about 3.5K from Amazon, I bought Reverse Parking Sensor with Night Vision Camera and an LED Display which mounts on Center Rearview mirror. Spent about 700 rs. For installation by a local accessories store in HSR layout. LED display come with FM connectivity with car Audio system. And so I can easily put a pen drive with Movies loaded in it, and have the sound delivered through Car speakers. This whole system by Dakshin Honda was quoted around 40k. On seating side, I spent about 17K for getting very Nice seat cover, which I am very satisfied with the look and feel compare to Honda PU covers for which they were asking about 15k. So all in all, whatever short comings this car has in terms of lacking equipments and seat covers etc. have easy workarounds with better options. If one is hell bent on having in-built Audio and Video GPS navigation, you can as well get it fitted at cost of about 40-45k, but I personally feel its not worth it.
