Why does Honda City rolls back downwards when gear is engaged on D mode?

The reason why your Honda city rolls back when gear is engaged on D mode is that D is a drive mode which will never put your car at standstill but always drive it. What I advise you is that you must engage the gear on P mode which will let the car stay parked at the place as it is. Also, just in case you leave the car don't forget to engage the handbrakes.
