Is it necessary to get the timer chain/belt in Honda City 1.8 I-DTec replaced post 1 lakh km driven?

Well, in order to check whether your Honda City 1.8 I-DTec needs some replacement with the timing belt, you need to make sure that it is making whirring noise from the timing belt housing. If it really makes that sound then probably the tensioner has gone faulty and needs to be replaced. Before approaching you're nearest Honda authorised service centre I recommend you to check are there any oil spots evident on the timing belt, or a crack may be apparent or if the teeth have come loose then for sure it is the time to get it replaced.
