I have booked the Creta 1.6 L diesel and I want to know the emission norms it meets right now and how can they be upgraded to BS VI norms. If not can I still use it after 2020 when BS VI norms come to affect.

The Creta complies to BS IV standards right now. You would not be able to make any changes to the car and make it comply with the latest emission standards if you would it would be lengthy process and require too much hassel. But you should not be worried since the new norms that would come in place from 2020 would only apply to new cars and not affect the cars that are already sold, so you would be able to run the car without any issues even in 2020 and until the standing capacity of car expires.
