Diesel cars are very popular in India as they are cheaper in terms of fuel price and offer a good mileage whereas petrol engines offer higher speed with a more silent engine but with lesser fuel efficiency. So firstly, deciding between a diesel and petrol variant depends a lot on your usage whether you want a car with high mileage and cheap fuel prices or a car with higher speed. A diesel car costs more but in the longer run due to lower fuel prices, it balances out the economies and proves friendly to your pockets whereas a petrol car costs you less but the price of fuel is higher thus, you need to decide whether you have a long enough running that you can balance out this variation in price by making up in terms of saving the cost of fuel or not.
Next, in terms of mileage Creta diesel 1.6 offers around 19.67 kmpl with manual transmission and 17.01kmpl in automatic. On the other hand, Creta petrol can offer you a maximum of 18kmpl in ideal conditions. Apart from this, in terms of features etc. the variants are more or less the same.
