I am in a double mind regarding buying a Hyundai Creta SX+ petrol automatic and Hyundai Creta SX+ diesel automatic. My average running is around 800-900kms per month and I travel within the city mostly. I've learnt that the Hyundai Creta SX+ petrol automatic will return a mileage of 6kmpl - 7kmpl in Bangalore where the traffic is bumper to bumper. Also, since I keep a car for 5-6 years only, I'm also concerned about the resale value of the car. In this matter, I feel that a petrol car will get me a better return especially because of the diesel car ban for 10 years. Overall the price difference between the two variants is close to Rs. 2.10lakhs, in Bangalore. Which car should I purchase between the two?

In my opinion, if your running is around just 800 to 900 kms per month then without a doubt you need to go in for the Hyundai Creta SX+ Petrol. The mileage of this vehicle with the automatic transmission is claimed to be 15kmpl but this is the best mileage what you can achieve. If you are stuck in traffic jams and have a lot of bumper to bumper driving, then this average will certainly reduce. To ensure maximum output, you should keep the basics in mind and remember to drive keeping a balance between the rpm and gear ratios, get your car serviced on time and also drive carefully.

Also, when you are selling this vehicle the mileage will not be of that effect because a person going in for the automatic transmission already knows that the mileage will be lesser compared to the manual transmission engine. This vehicle is doing very well and you will certainly get a good resale value for your vehicle.
