Hyundai Elite i20 and Hyundai i20 Active both look a little different with the latter having sportier looks. The price of the two also varies as Active 1.2 SX is priced at Rs. 8.16 lakhs whereas the Asta 1.2 (O) is priced at Rs. 7.58 lakhs. Asta offers feature like follow-me-home headlamps, GPS navigation system along with projector with Xenon headlamps and better looking interiors. These features aren’t present in the Active i20 but this variant features electrically folding anti-glare mirrors which are missing from the Asta. Technically though, there aren’t any differences between the two that are noteworthy, rather just minor tweaks and tuning differences are there. When comparing the diesel and petrol variants of the Hyundai i20 Active, the major differences lie in the price and mileage. The difference in price between similar variants of petrol and diesel is around Rs 1.33 lakhs when comparing ex-showroom rates at New Delhi. The mileage of petrol variant is around 17.19 kmpl and that of the diesel variant is 21.19 kmpl. The diesel engine is much more powerful with an engine with a displacement of 1396cc. This engine produces 89 bhp of power at 4000rpm and the petrol varaint has an 1197cc engine which produces 82 bhp of power at 6000rpm. When comparing the diesel and petrol variants of the Hyundai Elite i20, the difference in price is about Rs 1.22 Lakhs (comparing ex-showroom at New Delhi only). The engines have similar displacement but the mileage of diesel variant goes up to 22.54kmpl against the 18.6 kmpl mileage of the petrol variant.
When talking about the extra costs due to higher servicing costs of the diesel engine, the diesel engine maintenance will cost you around Rs. 26,000 for a total period of 6 years without including labour charges whereas the petrol engine service cost around Rs. 18,000 (without including labour charges) for similar period.
