Hyundai Xcent E Description
Originally introduced in 2014, the Hyundai Xcent was met with a good response in the subcompact sedan segment. The car later received a major facelift in 2017, making it one among the best sedan cars priced at around Rs 5 lakhs for the base variant. It is a sedan version of the company’s Grand i10 hatchback and is offered with a 1.2-litre petrol engine and a much more efficient and torque-friendly 1.2-litre diesel engine. The interiors have a dual tone colour scheme of beige and black, while the high-end (SX and SX-O) variants also get a touchscreen infotainment system. In terms of safety, dual airbags are standard across variants with ABS available in high-end (SX and SX-O) variants. The car also comes with an automatic transmission option for the S variant called the S AT.
Hyundai Xcent E ExteriorThe exteriors of the new Hyundai Xcent E are sharper than before. The hexagon-shaped chrome front grille covers the entire bumper and comes with horizontally placed slats. The Hyundai logo is placed on the top part of the grille. The headlamps are swept back in design while the wraparound tail lights split on the bootlid. The front bumper is body coloured while the rear is well garnished in chrome.
Hyundai Xcent E InteriorInside the Hyundai Xcent E you will be greeted by a dual tone colour scheme of beige and black with blue illumination on the front section. There are room lamps for both the front as well as the rear row along with door map pockets for all the doors. But there are no AC vents for the rear row.
Hyundai Xcent E Engine & TransmissionThe all new Hyundai Xcent E Petrol is powered by a 1.2-litre dual VTVT Kappa engine which can make a good power of 83 bhp at 6,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 114 Nm at 4,000 rpm. The engine is coupled with a conventional 5-speed manual transmission gearbox which is a great option to have for the entry level variant.
Hyundai Xcent E MileageThe 2017 Hyundai Xcent E Petrol offers an ARAI certified mileage of 20.14 kmpl with its 1.2-litre Kappa engine.
Hyundai Xcent E Braking and SafetyThe Hyundai Xcent E Petrol base variant comes with a pretty decent set of safety features. It gets disc brakes for the front wheels and drums for the rear. There is no ABS even as an option. Inside, there are two safety airbags for the driver and the passenger apiece.
Hyundai Xcent E Performance and HandlingThe Hyundai Xcent E Petrol offers a very smooth driving experience even at top speed. The car can hit a top speed of 155 kmph and can hit an acceleration of 0-100 kmph hour in a little over 13 seconds.
Hyundai Xcent E VerdictThe Hyundai Xcent E Petrol, despite being the base variant to the car, does offer a good range of features along will performance and stability even at high speed. It also has a pretty good boot space, which means outings and picnics are always welcomed.
