About Hyundai

Quick overview about Hyundai Xcent

The concept of compact sedans is not new in India. It was started way back some seven or eight years ago and now these cars seem to be enjoying great popularity in the subcontinent, including the emerging markets like India

The all-new Hyundai Xcent is nearly identical to the sibling Hyundai Grand i10 as they have been built on the same wheelbase of 2,425 mm. The front fascia shows the swept-back headlamps, chrome-plated radiator grille and trapezoidal air dam incorporated on body-coloured front bumpers

The Hyundai Grand i10 was a much impressive offering from the Korean car giant and a similar imposing moment can be felt as soon as you step inside Xcent. The cabin quality is high with excellent fit and finish

Engine & Transmission:

Keeping pace with the market trend, Hyundai has offered this car with both diesel and petrol units. The 1.2 L Kappa dual VTVT petrol engine has a displacement capacity of 1197 cc, and is capable enough to produce 82 bhp and 114 Nm of peak torque

The Korean automaker is offering Hyundai Xcent with both diesel and petrol motors. The 1.2 L petrol engine comes in manual and automatic transmission options, both of which are frugal in returning a mileage of around 18.9 kmpl

Braking and Safety:

Hyundai Cars have hardly any issues related to braking and Xcent is no different in this respect. The conventional disc and drum brakes work as expected, and are backed up by advanced anti-lock braking system

Performance and Handling:

When it comes to Hyundai Xcent’s 1.1 L diesel motor, it fails to take the competition head on and falls short in terms of performance. However, it still manages to keep things well in place with its outright handling

What do we think about:

We all know Hyundai does its homework with immense market research and analysis before developing a car. The new compact sedan Hyundai Xcent is the proof of this smart approach as this car offers almost everything that a buyer wants from a car, especially the first time buyers

Hyundai is a new contender in the sub-4 genre and it is not easy to ward off competition from seasoned players. But Xcent has done a pretty good job in this already-crowded and growing segment
