Hyundai decided to launch Xcent after the great success of the Grand i10 the reason behind this launch was that Hyundai Xcent is built on the same platform of Hyundai Grand i10. Both of these class leading cars share same engine and similar technical qualifications. Even the exterior built is also identical from the front, rear is the thing where all the difference kicks in. Xcent belongs to compact sedan segment whereas Grand i10 is built to serve hatch buyers. In a nutshell the only major difference with the both is only the boot, rest remains the same.
Hyundai Xcent is a sedan, while Hyundai i10 is a hatchback. Xcent is more expensive than the i10. If we compare their dimensions, we will see that Xcent is longer than the i10 but shares same measure of width and height. Hyundai i10 features power windows in both front and rear, whereas Xcent has only front power windows. All the variants of Xcent come with central locking system, which is absent in the lower trims of Hyundai i10. Therefore, both the cars are good, but Xcent provides better features.
If we compare the physical measurement of these two cars, then we find that both have similar dimensions except the length, where Xcent scores over i10. The Xcent also have a much bigger boot space and a more powerful engine. Hyundai Xcent is powered by a 2nd Gen 1.1 U2 CRDi Diesel engine and i10 is powered by a 1.2 Kappa Dual VTVT Petrol engine. Both the cars feature McPherson Strut suspension for their front axle and Coupled Torsion Beam Axle suspension for their rear axle. However, both are good, Hyundai i10 gives you more bang for your bucks.
