What is mileage of Hyundai Xcent?
By: Surendra desai on 2015-12-07
The Xcent petrol should be able to deliver a combined mileage of aboout 19kmpl and diesel would be able to give about 24kmpl.
The Xcent is aimed at the cost conscious consumer base and came with claims of good mileage under the hood. There is a noticeable difference between the mileage provided by the petrol and diesel variants, but of course mileage isn’t just dependant on the engine variant but also on the style of driving, conditions in which the car is being driven in etcetera. The mileage for the Xcent falls around the promised ranges only- for petrol variants, the mileage is an average of 17-18kmpl in cities and 19-20kmpl on highways, whereas for diesel variants- the combined mileage averages around 24kmpl.
I have a petrol version if Hyundai xcent and it comes with two engine options petrol and diesel. The petrol engine is holding a displacement capacity of 1197 cc with 83 PS power and 114 Nm torque. The mileage of Hyundai Xcent is not bad at all. Over petrol it gives a mileage of 13 KMPL in the cities and 17 KMPL over the highway which is decent. The ARAI certified mileage of the car is 19 KMPL which looks a myth.
I am agreeing with you, I own a diesel version of Hyundai Xcent which is having a displacement capacity of 1120 cc along with the power of 72 PS and 180 Nm torque. The mileage figures of diesel version is far better than what petrol offers i.e. around 15 in city and around 18 over the highways. The mileage certified by ARAI here is around 24 KMPL which is a complete fake figure. The ARAI should not be biased with the car manufacturing companies.
The mileage of Hyundai Xcent has good mileage. The petrol and the diesel variants have different mileage. Also, it has to be understood that the driving method and the conditions of the road play a vital role in the mileage of the car.
The petrol variants give lesser mileage compared with the diesel variants of the car. The petrol variant of the car offers 13 km per liter on the city roads and 17 km per liter on the highways. The diesel variant of the car gives 19 Km on the city roads and 21 on the highways.
The diesel variants of the Hyundai Xcent car offer far better mileage compared with the petrol variants of the same. While the car is said to have good mileage number, maintaining the car in the right way only to assure that the mileage continues over years.
