I want to install a CNG kit in my Hyundai Xcent. Will it affect the life of the engine? Also, what component of the engine will be most affected due to the addition of a CNG kit?

A CNG kit is not really recommended for a Hyundai Xcent. Though if you really want one then you should ensure that your car is not inside the warranty period because it will void the coverage and secondly, you should try a sequential CNG kit and get it installed from a reliable source only.
Though it is said that converting a car to CNG can damage its engine but it’s not really a proven case. The power output reduces definitely but there aren’t any major issues caused to the engine per say. The only drawbacks in converting to a CNG engine is the fact that there are very few fuel pumps for CNG which means that you have to spend a lot of time every time you have to fill in the gas, as there would always be a queue. Also, with CNG you might have to get your car serviced a little more religiously and also, the duration between services reduce a little. Apart from this, there isn’t any concern that you should have regarding switching to a CNG kit.
