Hyundai Xcent SX 1.2 CRDi (O) Description
Originally introduced in 2014, the Hyundai Xcent was met with a good response in the subcompact sedan segment. The car later received a major facelift in 2017, making it one among the best sedan cars priced at around Rs 5 lakhs for the base variant. It is a sedan version of the company’s Grand i10 hatchback and is offered with a 1.2-litre petrol engine and a much more efficient and torque-friendly 1.2-litre diesel engine. The interiors have a dual tone colour scheme of beige and black, while the high-end (SX and SX-O) variants also get a touchscreen infotainment system. In terms of safety, dual airbags are standard across variants with ABS available in high-end (SX and SX-O) variants. The car also comes with an automatic transmission option for the S variant called the S AT.
Hyundai Xcent SX 1.2 CRDi (O) Exterior
The exteriors of the new Hyundai Xcent SX (O) Diesel are sharper than before. The hexagon-shaped chrome front grille covers the entire bumper and comes with horizontally placed slats. The Hyundai logo is placed on the top part of the grille. The headlamp clusters are swept back in design and houses LED DRLs (daytime running lights) while the wraparound tail lights split on the bootlid. The front bumper is body coloured while the rear is well garnished in chrome. On the side profile and the ORVMs (with turn indicators) are body coloured and the B-pillars are given a black treatment. The outer door handles are made with chrome garnishing. It also comes with R14 Clean Silver alloy wheels and waistline moulding.Hyundai Xcent SX 1.2 CRDi (O) Interior
Inside the Hyundai Xcent SX (O) Diesel you will be greeted by a dual tone colour scheme of beige and black with blue illumination on the front section. The steering wheels are wrapped with leather upholstery. There are room lamps for both the front as well as the rear row along with door map pockets for all the doors and metal-finished inside door handles. The gear knob and parking lever tip are also finished dipped in chrome. For added comfort, AC vents of the fully automatic temperature control are provided for the rear seat row as well. All the windows can be electrically adjustable. Moreover, there is an additional storage space as the front passenger seat’s back pocket. This variant also gets buttons for audio, Bluetooth and voice recognition mounted on the steering wheels. There is a push start/stop button as well. But the biggest noticeable feature is the addition of a 7-inch audio-video display which are integrated with a whole lot of connectivities like smartphone navigation, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, MirrorLink and voice recognition. The all new Hyundai Xcent E+ Diesel is powered by a more powerful 1.2-litre U2 engine which makes a power of 74 bhp at 4,000 rpm and a torque of 190 Nm at just 1,750 to 2,250 rpm. The engine is coupled with a conventional 5-speed manual transmission gearbox which is a great option to have if you are more of a purist by preference.Hyundai Xcent SX 1.2 CRDi (O) Mileage
The 2017 Hyundai Xcent E+ Diesel offers an ARAI certified mileage of 25.4 kmpl with its 1.2-litre engine. The diesel car returns with a better mileage than the petrol variant.Hyundai Xcent SX 1.2 CRDi (O) Braking and Safety
The Hyundai Xcent SX (O) Diesel base variant comes with a pretty good set of safety features. You get central locking, keyless entry (folding key) and front foglamps in this variant. The braking duties are done by disc brakes for the front wheels and drums for the rear. Moreover, the presence of ABS makes braking under intense conditions much more secure. Inside, there are two safety airbags for the driver and the passenger apiece. It also gets parking assists like rear parking sensors and camera.Hyundai Xcent SX 1.2 CRDi (O) Performance and Handling
The Hyundai Xcent E Diesel offers a very smooth driving experience even at top speed. The car can hit a top speed of 156 kmph and can hit an acceleration of 0-100 kmph hour in around 18 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to that mark.Hyundai Xcent SX 1.2 CRDi (O) Verdict
The Hyundai Xcent SX (O) Diesel, the top end petrol variant of the theXcent, does offer a good range of features along will performance and stability even at high speed. It also has a pretty good boot space, which means outings and picnics are always welcomed. Apart from this, the Xcent SX (O) Diesel also covers almost all of the safety features that is required.
