KIA Mohave Overview
KIA previewed its extensive line-up at the 2018 Auto Expo, giving inkling of the future offerings for the domestic market after its official debut in India. The KIA Mohave 2018 is a seven-seat SUV with a three-row layout inside the cabin. Already on sale in the international markets, the KIA Mohave is offered with a range of engines ranging from 3.0-litre V6 diesel to a 4.8-litre V8 petrol. Though, it is yet not clear whether the SUV will be launched in India, but if it makes it to the Indian shores, the KIA Mohave price will be pegged on par with the rivals in the segment.
KIA Mohave Exterior
The SUV is sold in the North American markets under the Borrego nameplate by the South Korean carmaker. Boasting large dimensions, the SUV has a boxy silhouette and a robust stance. The upright front sports a square-like bonnet, a chrome treated grille with KIA logo placed in the centre. It additionally features rectangular shaped headlamps and aggressively styled bumper with fog lamps, air-inlets, etc.
KIA Mohave Interior
The cabin of the KIA Mohave is enveloped in a dual tone colour scheme, featuring beige and black colour tone. To add a premium touch to the interiors, KIA has used wooden trims on the door, dashboard, etc. There is a multi-functional steering wheel with multiple buttons mounted on it. Besides, KIA has added a raft of comfort and connectivity features on the inside including a three-zone climate control, a touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity options, etc.
KIA Mohave Engine & Transmission
As mentioned in the beginning, the KIA Mohave is available with multiple options in the international markets. That said, the model can be had with engines ranging from 3.0-litre V6 diesel to 4.6-litre V8 petrol. Transmission duties on the other hand are handled by an auto box. It additionally comes with a 4WD system and multiple driving modes. Since it is yet not clear if the model will make it to the Indian market, it is too early to comment on this front.
KIA Mohave Mileage
In terms of mileage, the robust engine line-up which includes diesel and petrol units, seems to be frugal in nature. These engines not only promise a great performance, but also return impressive mileage. As mentioned above, there is yet not clarity on the KIA Mohave specifications for the Indian market, hence it is a bit premature to comment on that.
KIA Mohave Braking and Safety
When it comes to safety, KIA has loaded Mohave with a host of tech including a blind spot detection, lane departure warning system, around view monitor, rear-view camera, tire monitoring system, electronic stability control, hill-start assist control, etc, among others. While stopping power on the KIA Mohave is derived from the powerful disc units at both the ends.
KIA Mohave Performance and Handling
The efficient range of engines powering the international version of the KIA Mohave offers a great performance. It additionally comes with several driver assistance technical aides that further bolster its performance as well as handling.
What do we think about KIA Mohave?
Sporting a robust stance and styled aggressively, the KIA Mohave has inherited true SUV DNA. The spacious interior offers comfortable room for the occupants and packs an array of goodies. If this car comes to India, it has the potential to make a space for itself in the thriving segment.
