KIA QYI Preview

Kia Seltos launched the SUV in the Indian market and it has been very successful and received a lot of bookings and is still on a waiting period for many buyers. By launching the Seltos, Kia has set the standard in the market and has proven that a new manufacturer can also set a benchmark by offering good quality, safe and feature-loaded car. Now, Kia has been testing their compact-SUV which is based on the Hyundai Venue as Kia and Hyundai are sister companies. The new compact SUV has been spied on the Indian roads with heavy camouflage and is being called QYi internally. The QYi will be based on the Stonic which is sold in the International market. The front will feature Kia's signature tiger grille which will be flanked by LED headlamps with Daytime-Running Lamps. The side profile will come with dual-tone alloy wheels and silver roof rails. Speaking of the rear, there will be LED taillamps. Kia will also offer a dual-tone paint scheme on the top variants. The interior will feature leather upholstery, touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Kia will also feature UVO internet-connected car technology just like on the Seltos. Some of the comfort features will be cruise control, wireless charger, automatic climate control and a sunroof for a more airy feel of the cabin. Kia QYi specs will offer both petrol and diesel engines. The petrol engines will be derived from the Hyundai Venue. The 1.0-litre turbo petrol may produce a max power of 125PS and a peak torque output of 172 Nm whereas the naturally aspirated 1.2-litre petrol engine will produce 83 PS of max power and 114 Nm of peak torque. The 1.5-litre diesel engine will be carried forward from the Seltos with a down-tune so that it produces less power and torque. The engines will be mated to a 6-speed manual or a 7-Speed Dual-Clutch Transmission and will comply with BS-6 emission norms. Just like the Seltos the QYi price will also be very competitive around Rs 7 lakh to Rs 12 lakh. Once launched the QYi will compete with Ford Ecosport, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Tata Nexon and Mahindra XUV300.
