Land Rover Freelander 2 HSE Description
Land Rover Freelander 2 HSE is the range topping variant which gets power from the much powerful 140 KW variant of 2.2 litre diesel mill. This is the primary difference between the top end version and rest of the trims in the model series. Features exquisite to the high end variant include power adjustable and electrically foldable exterior mirrors with approach lamp, heated function, memory function and auto dipping in reverse gear. Apart from this, front footwell lamps and map reading lamps in the front are also available exclusively in the top-of-the-line trim. A couple of preeminent interior features are equipped in the cabin, on the safety front HSE gets similar fitments like in the rest of the trims.
Land Rover Freelander 2 HSE ExteriorBody styling pack which comprises of front/rear apron, lower body claddings and single tail pipe with bright finish is missing in the top end trim. Power adjustable and foldable exterior mirrors with heating function also come with exclusive memory function along with auto dipping in reverse gear feature. Other than this, front footwell lamps and map reading lamps are the other two features restricted to the top end trim. Features like front fog lamps, automatic xenon headlights with LED signature including head light power wash, front door puddle lamps, electric sliding sunroof with front glass and fixed glass panoramic roof, front/rear parking aid, rear view camera and rain sensing windscreen wipers have been passed on to HSE trim from the SE Sterling Edition trim. 17 inch five-split alloy wheels and full size spare alloy wheels are the two options offered on the variant. Excluding the Orkney grey colour, all six exterior shades are available on this trim.
Land Rover Freelander 2 HSE InteriorCabin features additional equipments such as automatic climate control with air filteration and air quality sensing for automatic recirculation, auto dimming interior mirror wit humidity sensor, dark chest nut wood effect interior trim finish, driver’s seat with memory function to retain three settings and meridian audio system with 17 speakers. Seats are draped in Windsor leather instead of the grained leather, premium carpet mats in front and rear look upmarket and rear centre head restraint is available exclusively in HSE variant. Rest has been rolled over from the SE sterling Edition variant like electrically adjustable driver, front passenger seats, navigation system with 7 inch high resolution touch screen display, load space cover, leather wrapped steering wheel with multifunctional switches, USB iPod connectivity and Bluetooth telephone connectivity.
Land Rover Freelander 2 HSE Engine & TransmissionPower is supplied via the higher output version of 2.2 litre, four cylinder-in-line, 16 valve, CRDi diesel powertrain yielding pinnacle power of 140 KW at 3500 RPM along with zenith torque of 420 Nm at 1750 RPM. The engine is mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox and an all wheel drive system is integrated in the vehicle directing drive to all four wheels.
Land Rover Freelander 2 HSE MileageFuel economy delivered by the SE Sterling Edition is not very impressive but it is decent enough at 12.35 kmpl.
Land Rover Freelander 2 HSE Braking and SafetyBraking system comprises of vital features like anti-lock-braking system with emergency break assist, electronic brakeforce distribution and cornering brake control enabling effective braking experience. Safety features embedded in the range topping variant include driver and front airbags, driver’s knee airbag, row one and two head curtain airbags, roll stability control, electronic traction control, dynamic stability control and hill descent control.
Land Rover Freelander 2 HSE Performance and HandlingThe HSE variant propels to 100 kmph from rest in 9.92 seconds and attains top speed of 181 kmph. Terrain response and cruise control equipped in the SUV contribute towards the higher performance along with the more capable 140 KW diesel powerplant. Handling is superb, the SUV does not disappoint in this section.
