Since its launch, Mahindra Bolero has gone through several changes in order to keep up with the time. The new-generation Bolero model, Bolero Power Plus ZLX, looks sporty to attract buyers and features the latest technology.

The Bolero Power Plus ZLX measures 3995 mm in length, 1745 mm in width (and 1880 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,680 mm. With these dimensions, this sub-four meter SUV gets tax benefits under the government’s small vehicle policy. The front and rear bumpers’ lengths have been reduced by 17 cm to make Bolero Power Plus ZLX a sub-4 meter SUV, which has helped in achieving a substantial reduction in price. Outside design is almost the same, it gets new grille with new bumpers and little change in headlamp and tail lamp, wheelbase kept same as previous model. On the inside, the seven-seater has been given a comfortable seat cushioning. The space offered inside the cabin is decent and the interior is done in two-colour combination. Bolero Power Plus ZLX comes fitted with the tried-and-tested mHAWKD70 engine, which has been tuned for better fuel efficiency and can churn out 70 bhp of power at 3600 rpm and 195 Nm of torque at 1400 rpm, which is a big improvement in comparison to the standard Bolero, which has a 2.5-litre engine capable of producing only 68 bhp of power and 153 Nm of torque. Power delivery is linear and the lower end punch is good. The NVH levels are good as long as your don’t get past mid range. Suspensions do a good job of dispatching speed breakers and potholes. It features IFS coil spring at the front and leaf spring suspension at the rear. Its tall body shape and strong suspension enable it to ride anywhere. Maruti Vitara Brezza and Ford EcoSport are the biggest rivals of Bolero Power Plus ZLX.
