Why or why not does the Mahindra Scorpio require a rust prevention paint on its chassis?

Rust prevention is recommended for all vehicles in India due to the extreme weather conditions prevailing in the country. At times, there are potholes that are filled with water and this water tends to reflect from the tyres to the chassis. Also, in vehicles like Scorpio that is used for off-roading more often than not, there is high chances of pebbles/ stones getting reflected off the tyres and hitting the chassis which can lead to an open iron part. In all such situations, there is a chance that the chassis can corrode due to rusting which can lead to the engine damage. The layer of rust prevention oil is generally up to 3mm thick and this helps in preventing damage to the engine in normal day to day circumstances that the vehicle faces.
