The official name of the soon-to-be-launched Mahindra SUV variant is confirmed as XUV300. The sedan is declared to be introduced in February 2019. The company is recently working on this latest variant and has confirmed to introduce the model under the XUV brand. Its silhouette complements XUV500 and follows the same cheetah-look. Considering the advanced features that the company claims to integrate into this four-wheeler, it is anticipated to come with a hefty price tag.

As discussed above, the makers have carried forward its former variant XUV500’s cheetah-based design, cheetah-like liveliness, and premium technology gears in XUV300. The contemporary grille, perfect bonnet, well-defined body lines are all that adds to its visual appeal. Mahindra XUV300 Facelift features LED tail lamps, dual LED DRLs, new headlamps, and fog lamps. Plus, the addition of 17-inches alloy wheels gives it a bold look.

The interiors of XUV300 will feature a dual color i.e. black and beige theme. Following the compact SUV’s trend, it offers ample knee room and headroom to the occupants along with a comfortable seating arrangement. This 5-seater sedan will feature the latest infotainment system having CarPlay and Android Auto option coupled with a 7-inch touchscreen. The seats are upholstered with leather and are quite comfortable. The sedan supports Keyless entry, automatic climate control, and a fine center armrest.

Mahindra XUV 300 Engine & Transmission

Mahindra XUV300 Facelift will get diesel and petrol engine. The latter is said to be 1.5 Liter engine churning out a power of 100 BHP and delivering a torque of 145 NM (the figures are estimation). The diesel engine would either stay same i.e. of 1.5 liters or will take a jump to 2.0 Liter engine producing the power of 138 BHP and torque output of 320 Nm. Its engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.

As per the standard driving condition, the petrol version of Mahindra XUV300 Facelift could return a mileage of around 12-16 kmpl. The diesel may deliver 13-19 Kmpl of mileage.

The car has got disc brakes in all four wheels. Coming to the safety features, Mahindra XUV300 Facelift gets the anti-lock-braking system, dual front airbags, EBD, reverse parking sensors, child seat mounts, electronic stability program, and ABD.

The petrol engine of XUV300 is said to be fuel-efficient unit and is estimated to return an average mileage of 12-16 Kmpl. The diesel engine could deliver up to 22 Kmpl. It will come integrated with disc brakes coupled with ESP and ABD for better handling.

The all-new Mahindra XUV300 is a compact Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) by Mahindra. It has followed the footsteps of the subcompact and full-size SUV models of Mahindra, XUV500 and XUV800, respectively. The Mahindra XUV300 launch date is February 2019.


The manufacturer has maintained most of its iconic looks with this new car, apart from a few tweaks to the exterior here and there. Similar to the XUV range as well as the TUV300, this car is a five-door, five-seater vehicle with incredible looks, robust engine and appreciable performance. During its design and manufacture phase, this car was codenamed S201 but later received a proper name as it was added to the XUV range. The Mahindra XUV300 price in India extends from INR 8 lakhs for it entry-level variant up to INR 12 lakhs for the top spec iteration on an ex-showroom basis. The price varies according to the fuel version selected by the customer as well as the safety and comfort features installed in the variant. The petrol version guises of this car cost comparatively lesser than the diesel version guises. Even though Mahindra hasn’t indicated towards the possibility of an automatic transmission variant, if they decide to launch one, it will probably be priced the highest. The Mahindra XUV300 on-road price varies from INR 9 lakhs to INR 14 lakhs from the base to top-level variants.


Mahindra XUV300 Features and Specs


Mahindra XUV300 compact SUV holds a great resemblance to the higher XUV versions like XUV500 and XUV 800. The Mahindra XUV300 new model features two different types of engines. There is a 1.5 liter diesel engine that will be able to generate a peak torque of around 300 Nm and a maximum power output of approximately 121 bhp. The 1.2 liter G80 turbocharged petrol engine that Mahindra has developed in collaboration with SsangYong generates a maximum torque of 200 Nm. The Mahindra XUV300 seating capacity is of five passengers with two at the front and three at the rear. The legroom, headroom space and arm space is good and comfortable for all the passengers. The boot space available in this car is adequate and in proportion with the size of the car.


Mahindra has maintained high safety standards and equipped the new model with the latest and high-quality safety and security features, like Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), engine immobilizer, central locking mechanism, child safety lock, driver and co-passenger airbags, and door ajar warning.


The Mahindra XUV300 specifications in the comfort and convenience department have also followed the footsteps of its predecessors. Features like rear parking sensors, steering adjustment, steering-mounted infotainment controls, power outlets for charging devices, keyless entry, attractive upholstery, and armrests at the front and rear are available in this model.


Mahindra XUV300 photos clearly reveal that it boasts a squared-off bonnet with Mahindra’s flagship chrome grille along with LED daytime running fog lights. It has LED tail lights that provide a sleek European appearance to the car. The 5-spoke 17-inch wheels are accommodated within the flared wheel arches and provide a sporty, muscular and sturdy look.


The cabin has some improvements with regards to the infotainment system, as Mahindra has equipped the car with a touchscreen console on the dashboard for easy manoeuvring. The top-level guise has a sunroof, a total of seven airbags, disc brakes at the front and rear, and a dual-zone climate control system. The high-tech infotainment system can be paired with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. The cabin has a high gloss, black and light beige treatment making it attractive and unique.
