I purchased Mahindra XUV500 W8 around 1.5 months back. I exchanged the alloys with HRS alloys 17-inch at the time of delivery. As of now, the SUV has run 2500 kilometers and I have gone for the first service. I am facing an issue as the clutch is softened and some burning smell is coming out of the front tyre. I drive around 40-50 kilometers daily on an average within Chennai and once went to Pondicherry (300km up and down). What could be the reason behind all this and can it happen with a brand new vehicle?

There could be many reasons. First, pedal play can be easily adjusted and made hard for the feel which you want. You should try doing that that. but if you still feel the clutch to be soft, then definitely some mechanical issue related to pressure plate or slave cylinder maybe. You should approach the nearest Mahindra service station to get more information on same and get the issue rectified.
