Overview

Mahindra Xylo D4 BS-III Description

Mahindra D4 BS III is yet another entry level trim in the Xylo series, the variant comes with few additional features along with the standard fitments available on the D2 range. On the outside, D4 boasts of body coloured front and rear bumpers, body coloured tail-gate appliqué, footstep with integrated front mud flaps, wheel covers instead of the silver painted rim and rear wash and wipe. Interiors also flaunt a couple of extra features like digital/analog clock, roof console for spectacle holder, fabric upholstery with PVC inserts and power windows. It lacks significant safety equipments such as airbags, anti-lock-braking system with electronic brakeforce distribution and intellipark reverse assist. Devoid of various aforementioned and other features.

  • Mahindra Xylo D4 BS-III Exterior

In the front D4 BS III features body coloured bumper is bereft of fog lamps. New chrome highlights is missing in the front and rear as well also the new side body graphics and rear decals are not available on the variant. However D4 comes with the wheel arch cladding, rear wash & wipe, footstep with integrated front mud flaps, sporty roof rails, body coloured tail-gate appliqué, air-dam with fog lamp insert and wheel cover instead of the silver painted rim. Austere head lamps flank the black front grille, unpainted outside rear view mirrors and handles have been placed on either side. Rear lacks fog lamps but is gets body coloured bumper.
  • Mahindra Xylo D4 BS-III Interior

Cabin features fabric upholstery with PVC inserts covering flat bed seats. New premium black and beige dual tone colour scheme looks elegant. New premium ivory instrument cluster design is absent in the variant, black centre bezel, digital/analog clock, integrated roof console fro spectacle holder, on console mobile charging points, 1+1 courtesy lamp, sunvisor for driver and passenger conclude some of the other standard fitments in the cabin. Under the comfort and convenience segment, D4 gets air conditioner with heating and ventilation function, surround cool dual ACs, bets-in-class individual AC vents, power tilt steering, power windows, central locking, illumination key ring, half floor console and electric remote fuel opener.
  • Mahindra Xylo D4 BS-III Engine & Transmission

Mahindra has fitted the 2.5 litre, mDI CRDe, BS III complaint diesel engine capable of belting out maximum power of 95 PS at 3600 RPM along with top torque of 218 Nm between 1400 to 2600 RPM. A  NGT 520 V1 five-speed manual gearbox is mated to the engine.
  • Mahindra Xylo D4 BS-III Mileage

Powered by the 2.5 litre, BS III diesel powertran, D4 variant runs 14.88 kms in every litre according to ARAI.
  • Mahindra Xylo D4 BS-III Braking and Safety

Braking system comprises of disc brakes in the front and drum brakes in the rear. D4 BS III is devoid of potent braking features like anti-lock-braking system with electronic brakeforce distribution. Safety features like dual driver and co-passenger airbags and intellipark reverse assist. Safety equipments embedded in the variant include engine immobilizer, other than this the variant does not get anything concrete.
  • Mahindra Xylo D4 BS-III Performance and Handling

On the performance front, D4 does well, the variant sprints from 0 to 100 kmph in 12.95 seconds and attains top speed of 161 kmph. But handling is sloppy, it isn’t sharp unlike its elder sibling and recently revamped new generation Scorpio.
