It has been noted that the NVH levels of the Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 are quite poor. This can be because, to make this entry level hatchback economic, some compromises were made. However, if there is a whining noise while shifting then there are certain things that you can get checked. These include the transmission fuel, clutch or bearing. Low transmission fuel often increases the friction and due to this you hear a noise while shifting gears. On the other hand, it can also be the clutch because if it is worn out you tend to hear abnormal noises. Same is the case when a bearing needs a change.
Though it can just be the NVH levels that are bothering you but you should get the overall check done for the car as well, just to be sure.
