Maruti Suzuki Baleno 1.2 Sigma Description
Maruti Suzuki Baleno 1.2 Sigma is the entry level variant with minimal styling tidbits. Chrome treatment is missing on the outside like chrome door handles and chrome accent around the front radiator grille. Outside rearview mirrors lack turn indicators, alloy wheels and full wheel cap both have been left out. Projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights are also bereft in the base trim. Moreover, the company has also skimmed the UV cut glass in front/rear doors and qtr glass.
There is a lot missing inside the cabin, but particularly in comparison to the Delta trim, Sigma is devoid of metallic finish on the door handles and parking brake. There isn’t a single feature for the entertainment of occupants. Among the comfort goodies, the variant lacks remote keyless entry, rear power windows, auto-up power windows (driver side), power foldable function for ORVMs, rear seat adjustable head rest, automatic air conditioner and 60:40 split rear seat. The above-mentioned features are available on the Delta trim. Safety wise, Sigma has got various vital features like dual airbags in front, ABS and EBD but it comes deprived of reverse parking sensors, rear defogger and rear wiper & washer available on the Delta variant.
Maruti’s 1.2 litres, Sigma petrol engine powers the variant, the engine releases 83 bhp of power at 6000 RPM and 115 Nm of torque at 4000 RPM and is a BSVI compliant now. The engine works in conjunction with a five-speed manual gearbox.
ARAI rated fuel efficiency for the petrol powered variant is 21.4 kms in a litre.
Disc and drum brakes in front and rear respectively make sure to retard motion. Anti-lock-braking system with electronic brakeforce distribution is also available to further bolster the braking action. Dual front airbags are employed for driver and co-passenger. Seat belt reminder is provided for driver’s seat. Other secondary features like front seat belt force limiters, front seat pre-tensioners, headlamp levelling, dual horn and anti-theft alarm are also aligned in the vehicle.
