Should I wait for the new Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS or pick the Baleno Alpha instead as my budget is limited to Rs. 8 lakhs? Also, how long would it take for the launch of Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS in India?

Maruti Baleno RS is expected to launch in July this year but the official announcement is still awaited. The car will fall in the price bracket of Rs. 7.8lakhs to Rs. 8.5lakhs ex-showroom therefore the price would be slightly higher than the Alpha. Currently the Alpha has a 1.2litre engine which churns out 83bhp while the maximum torque produced is 115Nm. With the Baleno RS, the K Series VVT engine will be replaced with the 1litre Boosterjet which will be tuned to produce a power of 110Bhp and 170Nm of torque. The latter figures definitely depict that the performance of the car would notice improvement. Inside and outside the car, there would be some slight changes like the RS can get bigger allows and other detailings which will give it a different character from the regular Baleno.
Whether you want to wait for the RS or pick the Alpha that is something which you will have to take a call on. RS will definitely show improvements but the price would go up from Rs. 8 lakhs. Also, the launch dates haven’t been officially announced yet so one can’t really put a date to it. So you should be ready to wait if you want the Baleno RS.
