I am planning to buy the Maruti Baleno petrol. Is there any issue with the car that I should know about? Also, are there any other options for a good performance car except Baleno in this segment?

Maruti Baleno petrol is offered in a lot of variants that range from Sigma petrol which is priced at Rs. 5.15lakhs, Delta at a price of Rs. 5.8lakhs, Zeta at Rs. 6.4lakhs, Alpha at Rs. 7.11lakhs to Delta automatic and Zeta automatic at Rs. 6.86lakhs and Rs. 7.47lakhs respectively. You should figure out what price suits you best and basis that you will have a better idea as to which other cars can be an option for you besides the Baleno hatchback. In general the competitors of Baleno are Hyundai Elite i20, Honda Jazz and Volkswagen Polo. But it is only once you determine the price can you know the exact features which the car will have on offer because each variant of each car offers something unique. Speaking generally, at just a slightly higher price you get Hyundai Elite i20 which is offered with a longer list of equipment as compared to Baleno.
As for the performance of Baleno, the car offers 21.4kmpl in petrol and around 27kmpl in diesel. The engines are quiet peppy and the features are galore. As for the issues with the car, there are just a few things like the interior quality and under thigh support in the rear seats etc. where the car falls short. Technologically there aren’t any issues with the car.
