Maruti Suzuki Celerio Tour Overview

Maruti Suzuki will be soon launching its latest taxi version i.e. Celerio Tour in the Indian automobile market. Named as Celerio tour, this upcoming small hatchback is said to follow Dzire Tour in terms of design and some features. The hatchback is expected to endorse a fuel-efficient engine, speed limiting device, no-frills package, and low maintenance cost. After gaining a decent amount of appreciation for its X variant of Celerio, Maruti Suzuki is looking forward to having a significant share in the cab market with its latest production.

Maruti Suzuki Celerio Tour Exterior

The exterior seems simple and almost identical to its LXI variant. The main remarkable features include black-colored exterior door handles and rearview mirrors. Moreover, there are halogen headlamps, a body-colored bumper, Tour insignia, and the rear doors tinted with black. The Celerio Tour has all its dimensions similar to its standard model i.e. width of 1,600mm, a height of 1560mm, and the wheelbase of 2,425mm. This taxi variant is however 95mm longer than the standard Celerio models.

Maruti Suzuki Celerio Tour Interior

Coming to the interiors, there are approximately 5 bottle holders in this hatchback's cabin. The interiors come incorporated with an electronic power steering wheel and comfortable seats with fabric upholstery. Additionally, there is the presence of an air conditioner, pivot-based outside mirrors, folding rear seats, manual seat adjustments, and illuminated instrument cluster. Maruti Suzuki claims to integrate extra comfort gears to make long-distance traveling easier for the passengers.

Maruti Suzuki Celerio Tour Engine & Transmission

There is no variation expected in the engine and transmission system of the upcoming hatchback. Maruti Suzuki Celerio Tour is powered by the same 1.0 liter K10B Aluminum Engine that displaces 998cc. The engine churns out 67 BHP at 6000 RPM and produces a peak torque output of 90 Nm when it crosses 3500 RPM. The engine is mated to a 5-speed transmission gearbox.

Maruti Suzuki Celerio Tour Mileage

The hatchback gives an average mileage of 23.10 KMPL.

Maruti Suzuki Celerio Tour Braking and Safety

This soon-to-be-launched Maruti Suzuki variant has ventilated discs at its front brakes whereas rear axle sports drum brakes. The hatchback comprises decent safety gears such as driver side airbag, headlight leveling and a speed limiting device (which has become mandatory in all taxi variants). Moreover, there are additional features like intermittent wipers, pedestrian protection, engine immobilizer, driver seat belt warning, door ajar warning, trip distance, Tachometer, and child safety door locks.

Maruti Suzuki Celerio Tour Performance and Handling

The 3 cylinder, 998cc, BS4 K10B engine in Maruti Suzuki Celerio Tour returns a mileage of 16 KMPL on city roads and 21 KMPL on highways. However, the hatchback is designed for taxi and cab services. Thus, the makers have equipped it with a speed limiting device due to which its top speed is confined to 80 KMPH.

What do we think about Maruti Suzuki Celerio Tour?

In order to keep the price of this taxi variant reasonable, the makers have not integrated the model with premium technical gears. This 5-seater car does have spare wheels with power steering and remote boot release features. However, its performance is just fair with 80 KMPH being its top speed.

Maruti Suzuki Celerio Tour Competitors

Hyundai New Santro, Tata Tiago, Fiat Punto Pure, Datsun Go, and Hyundai EON are said to give a stiff competition to Celerio Tour.
