These two vehicles have been battling it out since the time of launch of the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz. The Ciaz comes with a 2 year (40,000 kms.) warranty whereas the Hyundai offers a 3 year (1 Lakh km.) warranty. Maruti Ciaz starts at Rs 7.5 Lakhs and goes up to Rs. 10.5 Lakhs whereas Hyundai Verna starts at Rs. 7.9 Lakhs and goes till Rs. 13.1 Lakhs.
The boot space of the former is 510 Litres which is much higher than 465 Litres in the Verna. Hyundai however uses a more powerful engine options that have a capacity of 1.4litres and 1.6litres whereas Ciaz is equipped with a 1.3 litre and 1.4 litre engine options. In terms of size, Maruti Ciaz is 4490mm in length, 1730mm in width and has a ground clearance of 170mm whereas the Verna has a length of 4375mm, width of 1700mm and a ground clearance of 165mm. Both these vehicles are equipped with all the latest features such as ABS, EBD, Airbags, climate control, Automatic transmission etc. Therefore, in terms of convenience features, the cars are almost the same. Thus, you should pick the car that makes you feel better while when you drive it, you should be more comfortable. You should also give the cost of maintenance a thought as well. Maruti doesn’t really dig a hole in your pocket whereas Hyundai Verna might be slightly higher in terms of maintenance cost. In my opinion, Maruti Ciaz is better because Hyundai Verna does give some noise issues after a little while and also, the interiors of Ciaz are quite plush whereas the sense of security in terms of maintenance etc. is much higher in a Maruti. But, nonetheless, before making this decision, do take a test drive of the vehicle.
