How good is the Maruti Ertiga CNG when travelling on the ghats?
By: Vijay on 7 july 2016
Maruti Eritga CNG uses the K14 petrol engine but with the CNG kit, the power goes down by 10% which results to a pulling power of 85bhp. This might not be a very big figure especially when you’re driving the car on the ghats and also, if it is fully loaded with passengers and luggage.
However, there are some good points too which include the fact that Ertiga CNG has a default start in the petrol mode which is an excellent thing especially when driving on the vehicle on a hilly area. Apart from this, the car can deliver 22.8km/kg which makes it an economical runner. However, if you’re taking a CNG car somewhere, it’s always advisable that you do a thorough study regarding the availability of fuel in those areas because CNG pumps are quite few therefore to avoid any hassles, first get a clarity regarding the same.
In terms of braking and response, the car is pretty good and will assure you comfort even on hilly terrains.
