Considering your yearly travel, it results to a travel of around 500 kilometres every month. Due to this, you should definitely go in for the petrol variant of the Maruti Ertiga only. The price difference between the petrol and diesel engines for the same variant is around Rs. 90,000 (when comparing ex showroom costs at New Delhi).
Till the time the monthly running around does not go beyond 1500 kilometres a month, it is advisable to use a petrol vehicle only as it has a lower price and lower maintenance. Except the fuel costs, the maintenance and service cost of a diesel engine are higher when compared to a petrol engine. The features in the two engines are exactly the same as long as you are seeing similar variants. The Maruti Ertiga has been in the Indian Auto industry long enough and it needs no introduction. It was the first MUV in this category and is still selling in good numbers in the market.
