Maruti Suzuki Ertiga VDi Description
Maruti Suzuki Ertiga 1.5L VDi has been newly introduced and is placed well above the entry-level LDi variant in the compact MPV’s diesel line-up. The exterior tweaks on the new Ertiga can be seen in the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga VDi images. It receives new styling elements which change its appearance as opposed to the previous generation model. Talking of the VDi trim, it sports 15-inch steel wheels at the side, turn indicators on the side mirrors which can be adjusted electrically, body coloured door handles and outside rear view mirrors. As for the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga VDi colour choices, it is available in 5 options including aubum red, oxford blue, magma grey, silky silver and arctic white.
The increase in dimensions makes more room inside the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga VDi interiors. While there is more space inside, the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga VDi features packs some additional bits over the LDi trim such as four-speaker audio system with USB, AUX and Bluetooth connectivity, steering mounted audio and telephony controls, second row centre armrest, rear AC vents, remote keyless entry, 12V charging port in first and second rows along with day/night inside rearview mirror.
The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga VDi specification has been retained from the previous generation model. Maruti has now equipped the ageing engine with Suzuki’s SHVS mild hybrid technology comprising features such as idle start-stop, brake energy regeneration and torque assist during acceleration. In terms of power, it makes max power of 94 bhp at 4000 rpm and 225 Nm of torque at 1500-2500 rpm. The engine continues to be paired to a 5-speed manual unit.
With the 1.5-litre diesel engine under the hood, the VDi trim delivers an impressive performance. The SHVS technology now makes it more fuel efficient with a claimed mileage of 24.20kmpl as per ARAI.
The list of standard safety features on the variant includes dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seat mounts, speed sensitive door locks, rear parking sensors and central locking.
The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga 1.5L VDi review gives a peek into the variant’s performance and handling. That said, there hasn’t been much change on that front even though it gets Suzuki’s SHVS mild hybrid system.
