Hari S Nair's review on Maruti Suzuki Ritz Vxi
Year of Manufacture : 2011 | Driven no. of Kms. : 31000
- Pros: I bought this car in 2011 with an on road price of 4.90 lakhs including modification (audio, alloy wheels). The car is powerful with good pickup. The tall boy design is well suited for people above 5 10 feet. The suspension is well suited for indian roads. The car feels heavy and feels good on highways. The gear shifting is ultra smooth and falls in place with the clicking sound. The steering response is good and the overall ride is good, though not as good as its sibling, the swift.
- Cons: The looks if the ritz is debatable, after all, the beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. I was really impressed with its rear design and i have always felt that the front part could have been designed better, keeping the rear the same. The leg space at the rear is quite less. The mileage is erratic - around 10 kmpl in extreme city conditions and around 20 kmpl on smooth, long highways drives. Advisable to keep the top speed at 100-110 kmph due to the tall body design. The body roll is highly significant at low speeds over potholes, bends and turns.
Absolutely reliable and i had not faced any single issue over the past 5 years and 31,000 kms. The Maruthi service reach is awesome and quite cheap as well. Once a year overall service is good enough (for 6000 kms per yr) coming to around 5000 rs. Overall a good value for money car.
