Is it a fact that an automatic transmission vehicle will be less effecient than a manual transmission vehicle?
By: Gautam Karki on 26 july 2016
No, this is not true in most cases. This because of the simple reason that during manual transmission driving a lot of gear changing is involved especially while city driving due to long jams across the city. The more use of the clutch will result to higher consumption of fuel, thereby reducing the mileage considerably. However, if one is travelling on a national highway, where there are no jams and the vehicle is being driven in top gear then the mileage of the manual transmission will be higher compared with that of an automatic transmission engine. These days the new automatic engines have about the same mileage of the manual or even higher in some cases.
