Which car should I buy between Maruti Suzuki S-Cross and Hyundai Creta?

There are many variant of Maruti Suzuki S-Cross and Hyundai Creta, so for fair comparison, here I need to assume that you are looking for a manual transmission diesel car.
Creta looks more appealing than S-Cross but dimensionally there is not much difference between both cars, S-Cross is little longer while Creta is little wider and also offers little more boot space. The 1.6 liter, turbocharged engine of Creta develops 126 bhp of peak power and 265 Nm of peak torque while the same capacity engine of S-Cross develops 118 bhp of peak power and 320 Nm of torque. The claimed mileage of S-Cross 1.6 (diesel) is 22.07 while of Creta 1.6 (diesel) is 19.6 kmpl. The engine of S-Cross feels more responsive in the mid range.
When it comes to fit & finish, Noise & Vibration, the Creta feels superior to the S-Cross. Even with the 1.6L clattering out front, the Creta’s interiors have been fairly done up to insulate the noise well. Hyundai is offering more features with Creta like ESP, touchscreen ICE, hill-start assist, reversing camera etc. When it comes to braking, all four wheels in S-Cross get disc brakes while Creta comes with discs brakes at the front and drums at rear.
Talking about the after sale services, Maruti Suzuki has widest service network in the country and as per user reviews spare parts price is lower than Hyundai. Due to the recent price cut, S-Cross feels better value for money than Creta.
So, as both cars have their advantages & disadvantages, the car best suits you depends on your purpose & preference, though both are excellent cars and you cannot go wrong with either.
