This highly popular hatchback is credited with possessing a ground clearance figure of 170 mm – reasonably high for a hatchback. It helps the car to glide over the Indian roads without having to worry about the possible scraping of its undercarriage by sundry obstacles on the roads like speed hump etc. In fact, the slush or water filled roads too do not pose much of a problem for this nifty hatchback.

As competition, it is arrayed against brands like Hyundai Elite i20, Chevrolet Sail, Volkswagen Polo, Hyundai Grand i10, and Maruti Suzuki Celerio, respectively. And their corresponding ground clearance figures turn out to be 165 mm, 168 mm, 168 mm, 165 mm and 165 mm. Thus it is evident that the ground clearance figure of Maruti Suzuki Swift is higher than its competitors and keeps it in good stead. However, on the downside, higher ground clearance implies that the aerodynamics of the car will be lesser.
