It is an updated entry level sedan from Maruti Suzuki in India. It serves the purpose of a sedan with style. Built on the platform of successful hatchback ie Swift. It features 1.3L DDiS engine in diesel version and 1.2L K-Series VVT engine in Petrol version. Variable Valve Timing technology used in petrol engine enables for smooth performance and faster response to the acceleration inputs. The DDiS engine features very well proven performance CRDi engine from Fiat. Though features of each variant of both petrol and diesel version are same, the cost of diesel version is higher by more than 1 Lakh Rs. If in initial expenditure is not a constraint then its worth buying a diesel version Swift DZire.

Cheaper prices of diesel prod a lot of buyers to opt for a diesel version of a car than a petrol one. However, some of them buy the diesel cars without paying attention to their personal running requirements. If the daily running requirement is greater than 80 KMs or so, you can opt for a diesel as then only you can reap the benefits of paying higher initial price of a diesel car than a petrol one. Both diesel and petrol Dzire are equal on features and functionalities. Although, you won't get the option of AMT in diesel Dzire.
