The new Maruti Suzuki Dzire is built on a new platform which is stiffer but lighter than the previous one. It shares the same Heartect chassis with the Baleno. The new DZire is around 85 kgs lighter than the previous model with increased use of ultra and high tensile steel which has helped improve its mileage and ride quality. If media reports are to be believed, the new Suzuki DZire has managed to receive 3-star safety rating in Euro NCAP crash test. The crash test concluded that the passenger compartment of the Swift remained stable in the frontal offset test and there is a good protection of legs for both the driver and passenger.
