Technically speaking, Maruti Suzuki LXi (O) is the model that is offered just a rung above the base model LXi. In terms of performance, looks, engine and transmission both the models are absolutely the same. Even the mileage performance of both is same. Additional safety features have been provided in Maruti Suzuki LXi (O) which is where the difference lies. LXi (O) comes equipped with the Anti- Lock Braking System (ABS) which prevents the car from skidding on the sudden application of brakes as well as airbags for the driver as well as passenger which is missing in the base model LXi. Other additional features in LXi (O) are the crash sensor, anti- theft alarm and power door locks.
If you’re looking to buy either of these models, I suggest you buy Maruti Suzuki LXi (O) as for just a few thousand bucks extra, Maruti Suzuki provides safety features that are worth the extra pennies spent.
