Why is Maruti not popularising the WagonR Stingray? I own this vehicle and can vouch for it but I have never seen an ad or even a poster in the dealerships for this vehicle. In fact Maruti sales executives discourage one to buy a Stingray. Why is that so?

Maruti definitely has its own team of experts in marketing who would give you a better off answer but in my opinion this might be because the car is already selling on its own goodwill and thus there is no need to advertise for it. Also, since every few days or months we see a new entrant and therefore, the attention is always on the those cars because vehicles like Stingray and Alto etc. have already made their mark in the market and they don’t need any publicity anymore.

As far as the sales executive is concerned, it might be at a one off place that you see such behaviour but that can also be because of their own targets etc. A sales executive is always given a target to sell a vehicle which is not doing well in the market on its own. This is generally the idea behind why a company doesn’t promote or promote a vehicle/product or service.
