Can I change the manual transmission on my Maruti WagonR with AMT? If yes, how can it be done and what will be its effect on the performance of the car if it currently delivers 19kmpl in the city?

If you already have a Wagon R with manual gearbox and it is giving you a mileage of 19kmpl in the city then you should not touch your engine at all. There is no point of opening the engine and replacing your manual transmission with an automatic one; as firstly your vehicle's mileage will go down and secondly, it will cost you around Rs. 70,000 or so. Apart from this, you will lose out on the warranty on your vehicle as well and there is no guarantee of how the new automatic transmission engine will adjust on your vehicle. Therefore, it is not worth the risk in my opinion.
