Maruti Suzuki XL6

Maruti Suzuki launched their premium MPV in the market through their "Nexa" offering. The XL6 is based on Eritiga but it is highly reworked for a more sporty look. The XL6 is positioned above the Ertiga and is longer, wider and taller than the Ertiga. Having said that, the wheelbase of the XL6 is same as the Ertiga. Maruti will offer only a 6-seater variant with captain seats in the second row. The XL6 gets many exterior and interior styling updates to differentiate it from the Ertiga.

XL6 exterior gets a new larger grille and it is flanked by a new set of automatic quad-LED headlamps with Day Light Running lamps. The headlamps also feature follow me home with lead me to vehicle functionality. The new sporty bumper with faux skid plate enhances the front of the vehicle. XL6 also comes with a black body cladding all around with blacked-out electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs. The front fog lamps are also LED for enhanced visibility for night driving. Speaking of the side profile, the XL6 gets roof-rails, side cladding with 15-inch alloy wheels for a more sporty appeal. The rear features 3D LED tail lamps, a skid plate on a new sportier bumper.

The all-black treatment with a silver insert and the leather-wrapped flat-bottom steering wheel gives a sporty feel to the cabin. The XL6 gets captain seats in the middle row which means that the second row gets individual seats for the occupants. You can also get the XL6 with leather upholstery. For the convenience of the driver, the XL6 gets height adjustable seat, multi-functional steering, Multi-information display with gearshift indicator. The MPV gets the newer version of the infotainment system known as SmartPlay Studio. It supports Android Auto as well as Apple CarPlay. Moreover, for added convenience, it also gets cruise control, engine push-button start with smart key, tilt steering and automatic climate control. For the comfort of the rear passengers, the XL6 also gets rear AC vents, individual arm-rests and seats also come with one-touch recline and slide function.

XL6 specifications include just one petrol engine which is BS-VI compliant. This engine can produce 103 bhp of power and 138Nm of peak torque. It is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 4-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

Maruti Suzuki XL6 mileage is to be within a range of 18-26 km/l. However. the mileage depends on the driving habits of the driver.

The standard safety kit on the Maruti Suzuki XL6 comprises of dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and Brake Assist, ISOFIX child seat mounts, speed-sensitive door locks, rear parking sensors, high-speed alert system and central locking. On the automatic variant, there is hill hold and ESP function. Moreover, Maruti also offers a rear parking camera on the higher trims.

The suspension of the XL6 absorbs almost everything on the road and the ride is comfortable throughout. The performance from the engine is ample for the MPV.

Maruti Suzuki has made every effort so that the Xl6 does not look like the Ertiga and they have succeeded. The XL6 will appeal to those who are looking for an MPV which is different from every other MPV in the market and is more appealing to the eyes than other MPVs.
