About Mercedes-Benz Cars

The story of Mercedes-Benz dates back to the year 1986 when Karl Benz designed the Benz Patent Motorwagen, which is known to be the first petrol-powered automobile. However, it wasn’t until the year 1901 that the Daimler Motors Corporation went ahead to market the car. A year later, an entrepreneur who worked with Daimler Motors Corporation or DMG, Emil Jellinek, trademarked the car with the name ‘Mercedes’, named after his own daughter. While the trademarked remained protected throughout these years, it was finally in the year 1926 that the brand name Mercedes-Benz was out to use to label the vehicles, owing to the then-recent merger of the companies held by Karl Benz and Gottlieb Daimler.

While there is no doubt about the meticulous craftsmanship, luxuriant designs and the envious performance of all the cars rolled out by the brand, not many know that it was in fact Mercedes that put forth numerous technological and safety innovations in automobiles, before any of its counterparts. Hence, it doesn’t come as a surprise that the company holds the title for being one of the most renowned automotive brands across the globe.

However, the company took it upon itself to improve in this aspect and since then climbed several places to reach the 4th spot on the list in the year 2005. As a matter of fact, Mercedes cars were applauded by J.D. Power in the year 2011 for being above average. Then again, the brand boasts of the Platinum Plant Quality Award received by its assembly plant in Sindelfingen, Germany. The icing on the cake was when Mercedes was found to have the lowest recall rate, in an iSeeCars.com study conducted in the year 2014 for Reuters.
