Mercedes Benz C Class C 220 CDI AvantGarde is the other diesel variant in the saloon’s line up. The difference between CDI Style and Avantgarde variants is minor on the outside, while cabin gets a handful of additional features in the latter. On the safety front all the trims are identically equipped. Power comes from the same 2.2 litre, four cylinder diesel motor mated to a seven speed automatic tranny.

Front facet boasts of a radiator grille with integrated star emblem and two louvers in matt iridium silver with chrome trim. LED intelligent light system comes with variable light distribution, active light function, cornering light function, enhanced fog light dynamic beam control and a blue welcome lightfunction. LED license plate illumination in the front and LED lights fitted in the rear look endearing. A lot of chrome work can be seen on the outside such as chrome handle strip on boot lid, door sill with chrome insert, non visible exhaust tailpipes and chrome trim and chrome trim on the front air intake. Cabin comes equipped with three spoke multi function steering wheel with mounted audio and onboard setting controls. Air vents in silver chrome, aluminium horizontal trim in the instrument cluster and ambient lighting make the cabin look plush. Analogue clock in dashboard console, double cup holder in centre console, electric sunblind for rear window, folding rear seat backrests including armrest with double cup holder and stowage compartment, free standing 17.78 cm central display, electrically adjustable front seats, front centre armrest with storage compartment, illuminated glove box, interior lighting package, stowage space package, ARTICO leather upholstery sum up the rest of interior features aboard. From the comfort segment C 220 CDI Avantgarde gets an additional 230 V socket in the rear and keyless go starting function, rest all is similar to the Style trim which includes reversing camera, outside temperature display, two-zone automatic climate control, cruise control with speedtronic variable speed limiter, central locking with interior switch and 4 way lumbar support for driver and front passenger. A 2.2 litre, four cylinder, in-line diesel engine is loaded in the C 220 CDI Avantgarde variant. The engine is capable of generating pinnacle power of 125 KW between 3000 to 4200 RPM and top torque of 400 Nm between 1400 to 2800 RPM.
