Mercedes Benz has two models available in E-class, i.e. Mercedes Benz E-class 250 CDI Avant-garde and Mercedes Benz E-class E350 CDI. The E250 CDI engine offers a 2143cc Displacement with 204 PS power and 500 NM torque with a 7-speed 7G-Tronic Plus transmission. The E350 CDI engine offers a 2987cc displacement with 268.7 PS power as well as 620Nm torque with a 7-speed automatic transmission. The 7G-tronic Plus transmission gives the extra response to the driver

Mercedes Benz E-class comes with two engine option both in diesel and petrol. Yes the diesel version of Mercedes Benz is available in India as written in the above answer. A 2.2L diesel engine with 7-speed automatic transmission and another one is E350 which has a 3.0L engine with a 7-speed manual transmission. Both of the engines are good in efficiency and performance, E250 is a better mileage car with an exception mileage of 22 KMPL in its class and the E350 gives a mileage of 13 KMPL which needs some improvement.

I am also agreeing with the above two answers. Mercedes Benz Diesel engine is available in India. With the high fuel consumption and higher petrol prices in India forces the vehicle makers to manufacture diesel based car for Indian market as diesel based fuel is less costly than petrol and gives a better mileage as well. So every car manufacturer has to design diesel based car for India. I also prefer diesel based cars and I have an E250 diesel engine mercedes.
