No one was expecting a full-size SUV from MG. But the MG Gloster is the SUV that the manufacturer has just revealed at the Auto Expo 2020. The sheer size of the Gloster speaks for itself. For reference, the SUV is larger in every aspect when compared to the Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour. MG Gloster measures 5,005 mm long, 1,932 mm wide, 1,875 mm tall and has a whopping wheelbase of 2,950 mm. It looks like a proper SUV with its size and the huge front chrome grille. Then there are the LED headlamps, huge bonnet and vertically positioned LED fog lamps. The side profile consists of roof rails, alloy wheels and a running board. At the rear, there are LED tail lamps, skid plate and dual exhaust tips. MG will offer its features such as 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with internet connectivity, heated and cooled seats, three-zone climate control and much more. The analogue instrument console will be replaced by an 8-inch digital instrument console. It will also feature multi-information display that will show vital information to the driver. Premium features include a panoramic sunroof, leather upholstery, leather-wrapped steering wheel with gear knob and much more. The huge glass area and the sunroof opens up a sense of airiness in the cabin.
Braking duties will be done by disc brakes in the front and at the rear. There will be front and rear parking sensors, six airbags and autonomous emergency braking. To further enhance the safety of the SUV there is Anti-lock braking system with EBD, stability control, automatic parking system and much more. There will also be a 360-degree camera to park the huge SUV easily.
MG Gloster specs offer a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine in the international markets that produces a max power output of 221bhp and peak torque output of 360Nm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission or an automatic transmission. India will also get a diesel engine when the Gloster is launched in India.
