Hello Venkata chalapathy gowda !!
As per sources presently Mitsubishi Pajero Sport is available in diesel version only, so if this is the only car you want to buy then there should no confusion between diesel and petrol as you have only one option.
Still if you are confused between Manual transmission and Automatic Transmission, we will help you take the decision based on the merits and demerits of both of these so that you can take a better decision. Below is a comparison of various important features like cost , efficiency , maintenance, comfort, convenience, sport thrill and driving skill needs for Manual Transmission vs Automatic Transmission:
Initial cost of manual transmission cars is low
Initial cost of similar automatic transmission car is higher
Fuel Efficiency of Manual transmission is higher because of low energy loss of a clutch plate based system
Fuel Efficiency of Automatic transmission car is lower compared to manual transmission because of energy losses in hydraulic torque convertor is higher
Preventive maintenance cost for Manual transmission is slightly lower.
Preventive maintenance cost for automatic transmission car is slightly higher.
BREAKDOWN MAINTENANCE COST
Breakdown maintenance cost of manual transmission car due to transmission related failures is lower compared to automatic transmission because of lesser complexity of manual transmission
Manual transmission is usually more sporty compared to automatic transmission because the choice of changing the gears lies with the driver so he/she can choose whether to drive with more acceleration or more fuel efficiency based on the driving style
COMFORT AND CONVENIENCE
Manual transmission is less comfortable as the driver has to operate clutch to change gears and it can be lot of inconvenience in a congested city traffic with stop and go type of situation.
Manual transmission requires more skills compared to automatic transmission as to drive a manual transmission car there has to be a coordination between speed and gears. Also driver needs to operate clutch whenever moving from a stopped position and while changing gears. It takes more time to be habitual of smoothly driving a manual transmission car.

I Ramesh Kumar personally feels that automatic transmission mode is much more effective in cars. It is the safest and simplest driving experience for new driving learners. Generally, it allows you to have a keen focus on the roads, rather than on the gears, less distracting in long term. Even, the entertainment system generally known as the multi media system is the best you can get in this affordable price range in this car.
I strongly agree with the opinion of Mr Ramesh. Automatic transmission is the most appropriate mode to be used in cars. It can help you in accelerating gears such as while you have to merge into a freeway. I personally own a Pajero Sport car that is fully automated and the experience you get while driving is totally amazing. Generally, the automated version gives you enough power to control your car efficiently.
However, I Ramdhan Kisan totally disagree with both the comments. In my personal choice, I favor Manual Transmission mode in cars. They provide you with better gas mileage and give you enough ways to handle your car. The experience that you get in manual transmission mode in cars is far better than automated transmission mode in cars. By manual mode, you can easily proceed with your effective ways. So i favor manual mode more.
I favor the comment of Ramdhan. In my view also the manual transmission is best, as it is a cheaper option to purchase, that affects your pocket less than usual automatic transmission mode cars. Even, the expense to repair is less expensive as compared to the automatic transmission as automatic mode contains complex technology that provide a heavy cost to repair. So save your pocket and invest hard on something valuable.
Automatic and Manual Transmission mode in cars, both are good options to take on. It basically depends on the person and his way of convenience, regarding the driving of the car. Many people would favor the automatic version and many the manual version. So, it is basically the choice of the person who wish to purchase the car. Both the modes are comfortable in their own ways, just your way of interest defines it.
I agree with the previous commentor. It depends on an individual whether to select Automatic or Manual transmission mode. Basically, the user of the car has to identify as to which mode suits him/her while driving the car. The basic layman diffence between both modes is, the fuel consumption in automatic transmission is more compared to manual transmission. And, if Indian roads are taken into picture, manual transmission is the best.

Which car should I buy; the new Toyota Fortuner, present Fortuner, Toyota Innova Crysta or Mitsubishi Pajero? My confusion is owing to the fact that the Pajero rides well but Toyota has an excellent quality assurance across India.
