Mitsubishi Xpander Preview

Mitsubishi has always been known for its SUVs that are sold in India but now they are thinking of expanding their line-up and they are thinking of launching an MPV in India just like the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. Mitsubishi Xpander will be a seven-seater with a bench seat in the middle and third row. Mitsubishi Xpander Exterior gets split headlamp setup which means that the headlamps and the turn indicators are placed in the bumper while the Daytime-Running Lamps sit above them. The three-slat chrome grille with fog lamps placed in the skid plate gives the Xpander a distinctive look. The side profile gets 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels with subtle lines through the chrome-finished door handles. The rear gets swept back taillamps with LED strips in it and the skid-plate enhances the rear profile of the MPV. The Indonesian spec of the Xpander is longer, wider and taller than its Indian competitors. Also, the wheelbase is longer than the competitors which means that the MPV should offer more space inside the cabin. The only MPV which has more ground clearance than the Xpander is the Honda BRV. Mitsubishi may also offer captain seats which means that there will be two individual seats in the middle row however, this is not yet confirmed. All of the rows will offer charging sockets and cupholders to ensure the practicality bits of the MPV. Mitsubishi Xpander interior comes with traditional analogue dials, wooden insert in the swooping dashboard, rectangular air conditioning vents and a dual-tone interior which really enhances the classy appeal of the MPV.
The driver will get a multi-information display that will show various vital information to the driver, keyless entry, a multifunction leather-wrapped steering wheel with the adjustability, push start/stop button and cruise control for hassle-free highway driving. There should be air conditioning vents for all the three rows. The 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system should ideally offer Android Auto and Apple CarPlay for smartphone connectivity as it has become a standard now. Mitsubishi will also give GPS navigation with the infotainment system. Safety features will include Anti-lock Braking System with Electronic Brake Distribution, traction control and hill start assist. There are reverse parking camera and reverse parking sensors to easily park the MPV. Mitsubishi Xpander is going to compete with Mahindra Marazzo, Maruti Ertiga and the Honda BR-V Mitsubishi Xpander specs in the foreign market offer a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder MIVEC petrol engine which generates 105PS @ 6,000rpm of max power and 141Nm @ 4,000rpm of peak torque output. The engine will be mated to a 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed automatic.
