Expected Price:8.00 Lakh – 12.00 Lakh
Expected Launch Date: Jan 2018 - Mar 2018
Nissan Kicks PreviewNissan Kicks was first revealed at the 2014 Sao Paulo International Auto Show in the concept form and it is expected that the production version of the SUV will be unveiled by next year in Brazil. As for the Indian market is concerned, it is likely that Nissan will trim the length a tad and bring a compact version of the vehicle. The sub-four meter length will in turn make the SUV eligible for the lucrative excise duties levied on vehicles which measure under 4 meters. Hence auto pundits in India are expecting the compact SUV to be exhibited at the next edition of Auto Expo slated to take place in the first week of February. Likely to be conceived on the V-Platform which also underpins Micra hatchback and Sunny sedan, the new compact SUV could share resemblance with these two cars from Nissan India’s clan. Unlike the Brazil-bound model, Indian model will get a lower displacement diesel engine. The production version is supposed to be largely like the concept avatar except for a few changes made to the wheels, bumpers and lights. In its segment, the SUV will lock horns with Fiat 500X, Honda Vezel and Renault Duster.
Nissan Kicks Engine & TransmissionFor generating power, Nissan could place the 1.5 Litre, K9K diesel powertrain that serves in Renault Duster SUV. On the other hand, the Brazil bound model could house a higher displacement 2.0 litre, diesel engine under the hood.
Nissan Kicks Expected MileageNothing much is specified on this front, however since the same engine powers Duster SUV, hence it is likely that Nissan Kicks would deliver decent fuel economy.
Nissan Kicks Expected PriceRumours suggest that Nissan Kicks will be priced between Rs 8 lakhs to Rs 12 lakhs.
Nissan Kicks Expected launch dateAs mentioned above, the production version will be unveiled next year in Brazil hence it is likely that India may get this SUV by 2016. Sources close to the development reveal that Nissan Kicks could make its India debut around Dec-2017
